After spending a considerable amount of time reading Whitman at this point in the semester I find it interesting the topics in which he feels he has the right to comment on. In “Song of Myself” he acted as a sort of “white savior” claiming to know the trauma of situations he, himself had never had to endure. I saw a version of this once again in the form of his writing regarding  the female sexual experience. Whitman wrote about an intimate experience, by doing so he revealed it to the world. As a man did he have the grounds in which to comment on and share his views on a body in which he did not possess?
